Fighting Cancer with Radiotheranostics: An Interview with Neuroendocrine Tumor Patient Tordys von Feder
A cancer diagnosis is life-changing, but it can also lead to new perspectives and deep gratitude. In this interview, we speak with Tordys von Feder, a successful investment manager in the photovoltaic sector, living in Germany. Married for 30 years, she has an adopted son and three grandchildren. In 2017, during a routine check-up, doctors discovered a neuroendocrine tumor in her small intestine. After the tumor was removed at the clinic in Bad Berka, she was advised to undergo a PET/CT scan every six months. Half a year later, additional metastases were detected in her lungs and lymph nodes thanks to advanced radiomolecular diagnostics, part of the radiotheranostics arsenal. This level of precision and early detection would not have been achieved as quickly or as easily with conventional methods.
She is incredibly grateful that her diagnosis was made at such an early stage. During her regular check-ups in the clinic, she exchanged experiences with many other patients. They all shared the feedback that they were relieved to finally find out about radiotheranostics after going through various other treatments. In her opinion, detecting cancer sooner is essential for timely and effective treatment.
In this interview, she wants to raise awareness about the possibility of highly targeted treatment with radiotheranostics, which usually has few side effects, and would like to psychologically encourage other cancer patients. Her motto is “Carpe diem and always stay optimistic.” She is extremely happy with the success of her treatment and now enjoys life surrounded by her loved ones.
